Queen Daisy

Last year when my duck hatched her chicks we called her Duchess Daisy because it was the day of the Royal Wedding. Today is Diamond Jubilee day and she has done it again so we now call her Queen Daisy. She always has to be one up on other people. What a show off. I could call myself Lord Harvey of Houghton but I don't want to be as pushy as she is.
I knew she was a show off as soon as she walked through the kitchen door for the first time years ago. You can tell with ducks. They strut about all over the place and don't care about other people's stuff.
It's the same with that blackbird. I went out again yesterday just to share a bit of his chopped grape......I wouldn't have eaten it all.......but he put his head down and ran at me! It's not worth trying to be friends with him. I had to hop back inside pretty smartish.
The walk-in-pantry door was open later so I walked in and found a spare bag of hay tucked in a corner.. That was something I could sort without any interference from anyone. I made an excellent job of it. I think J was quite impressed.

Hello Harvey, now I can see why you stayed at home rather than coming to my Jubilee Garden Party. Very public spirited of you; I hope Janet tells you about the wonderful cakes you missed including carrot cake :-)
Papa has a request. He has created a link between my website and your blog and wonders whether you could kindly provide me with an autographed photo so he can embellish the link.
I can be found at http://parsleyswarren.org
Thank you LPoP

PS and fewer of the 'digs' about us ennobled buns please - Princess Peaches was a bit upset when she looked over my shoulder . . .

No wonder Daisy came back again this summer. She has found the most wonderful hotel - lots of food, devoted humans, and safety to rear her little ones.
I wouldn't mind one of the little ones.Delicious

Harvey - Wonderful timing "Diamonds are for ever.. for ever for ever.. for ever .... .. much like rabbits not just for easter.
You certainly have a lot of house visitors trying to take ever your domain.
I have plenty of little house guests at the moment around the back of my neck! So am subjected to daily combing and checking and salty solutions.
I quite like it actually being stretched out and wrapped like a mummy to have my neck and cheeks combed is quite relaxing!
Last year we sorted it but if it goes on much longer it could mean a trip to see the Vet.
Worried humans of course they always think the worst and hope for the best.

Healthy living Harve be glad your guests stay in the garden!
love Lennie
